With all of the troubles in this modern world, I strongly feel it’s important that each of us help others who happen to be less fortunate than ourselves. I have personally been on both sides of this issue in my life, and I know that this life can be difficult, happy, joyful, or seemingly impossible at times. A close friend recently reminded me of this. Here are 20 inspiring Bible verses for all of the Christians out there, (You know who You are). Even if you aren’t a Christian, you may find that you might agree with the philosophy or spirit of these sayings – It certainly can’t be a bad thing to help your fellow human beings when they need it most…

**1) Psalm 34:6**
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.

**2) Psalm 35:10**
My whole being will exclaim, \u201cWho is like you, Lord?
You rescue the poor from those too strong for them,
the poor and needy from those who rob them.\u201d

**3) Psalm 82:3**
Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

**4) Psalm 109:30-31**
With my mouth I will greatly extol the Lord;
in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.
For he stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save their lives from those who would condemn them.

**15) Isaiah 58:6-8**

to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,

**16) Micah 6:8**
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

**17) Zechariah 7:8-10**

**19) 1 John 3:16-18**
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
